Founded in 1999 by Donald Blackfox,
Thunder Hawk Singers is backed with 11 years of industry
experience.
Donald Blackfox, Founder
of the Thunder Hawk Singers, and Laura “Bright Star” Vannah, Founder
and Executive Producer of the Native Circle, are a local
Native drumming duo that was formed in 2000 in
Salem MA.
Their first CD Native Pride, featuring
music from the Mi’kmaq and Northern
Cheyenne nations, was just
awarded the 2009 Native
American Music Award for Best Historical recording at
the Eleventh Annual Native American Music Awards, eight years after
it was nominated for Best New
Group of the Year in 2001.
